Weather

Sometimes we see a cute onesie and think its the perfect gift. One thing to take into consideration is what season will it be when the baby is a few months old. You don't want to buy a 6-9 month long sleeve for a baby when it is the middle of Summer or a bathing suit in the middle of Winter.

Sizes

Many people tend to gift clothing that goes up to 9 months. Most love to give smaller clothing since the baby first year is one big photoshoot. Consider getting items of clothing 12 months to 2T. Chances are mama will be set on clothes for a year, once 18 months comes around she'll have less and less clothing. Shoe size is important. When most babies start walking, they will wear a size 4 or higher. Although smaller shoes are adorable, they are not useful other than cute photos.

Hygiene Products

Hygiene is something that babies will always need attending too. Consider fragrance-free products. A few examples of brands are Baby Dove, Johnson's Baby, Aveeno Baby, and Cetaphil. Always check the registry to see if the future parents chose a specific brand. Diaper cream and baby powder is something that will always be handy.

Gifts for Mom and Dad

Once the baby is here, the new parents will not have time to rest or eat. Consider gifting them gift cards to restaurants that deliver. Couples massage is also a good option because it will force the new parents to relax without their new bundle of Joy. Daddy's brother in law gifted a big box full of energy drinks, that helped through many sleepless nights. Be creative and remember mom and dad need love too.
