Having a child can be difficult for the relationship of a couple. What once was a midnight make-out session at a romantic view is now each person taking care of their business, hoping not to wake the baby. Sometimes the flame in your relationship flickers but doesn't mean it is out. Spending time together alone is just as important as spending time together as a family. Did you know Date Night does not have to be an expensive or mundane experience? Here are a few things Daddy and I have discovered to make date night a magical time.
A Date with the Stars of Hollywood
I was nine months pregnant when I signed up for tickets to the Santa Clarita Diet Season 2 Premiere. We went to the Arclight Theater on Sunset, got free popcorn and beverages, and met Drew Barrymore. We have been at the Steve Harvey Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Movie Premieres and many other events. You can attend a taping of your favorite TV show, game show, reality show, or just view something new. The best part is that these tickets are free! Most production companies give out tickets for fans\influencers to give reviews and encourage others to see these shows.
Museums and Art Shows
The Observatory in Griffith Park is a Planetarium, Astronomy Museum, and Space Observatory. You can explore exhibits, see live shows, view the Zeiss Telescope, or view of the Hollywood Sign. Take your own food and have a picnic on the lawn. The Getty Museum has paintings, sculptures and a beautiful Garden. This museum offers free audio tours. Make a discussion on what you see in the art and how it makes you feel. Many museums offer free days once a month be sure to take advantage. The Broad Museum is free with reservation while you may have to pay separate for certain exhibits. The Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirror Rooms is a very popular and magical experience. Be sure t join the wait list as soon as you enter, reservations fill up fast.
Beach Days
Get some sun and catch some waves in many of the beaches California has to offer. Walk the strip of Venice Beach and check out the boutiques. Take a dip in the clear waters of Laguna Beach or swim in the privacy of Zuma beach. Bonfires are a must in PCH. Play some games at the Santa Monica pier or catch free shows at their Twilight Concerts.
Hollywood Nights
The Hollywood Walk of Fame has so many things to do. Hollywood and Highland have many cool places to check out. We love putting tracing our hands in the handprint cement in front of the Grauman's Chinese theater. The Roosevelt Hotel has a beautiful interior lobby and amazing bars inside, I recommend finding the hidden bowling alley. The Japan House inside the mall has many exhibits that change every month. Grab a drink from the Rusty Mullet and push the Globe in the fountain at Guinness World Record Museum.
Netflix and Chill
Netflix and chill is usually the first thing that comes to mind for a "Home Date". Call a baby sitter, pop some champagne, and make it a theme night. Do you love Stranger Things? Make a waffle bar and Demogorgon Sundaes. Is walking dead your thing? Eat some Brain cauliflower and ribs. Do you love Friends? Make some lasagna and some stolen cheesecake. Get creative and make themed cocktails.
Hiking
Hiking is another free thing to do with your partner. Be sure to check out the trails beforehand to make sure they are not too difficult. Daddy and I found an abandoned miniature golf course on a hike, you might discover something new. Placerita Canyon in Santa Clarita, CA has great trails and a nature center showing you about all the species that reside here. Springtime is a must to catch those marvelous waterfalls like the hike in Altadena, CA.
Like J-Lo once said, "love don't cost a thing". Though some things will cost you a lot of money, you can enjoy a priceless bond with your partner if you know where to look. Don't let that flame go out, throw gasoline to make it soar to the sky. Have fun Lovers.
